LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Metro police on Monday announced they have a suspect in connection with a shooting on Saturday, Jan. 19 in a park that left two women injured.
Police said Ezra Peoples, 18, of Las Vegas, is already in custody at Clark County Detention Center on unrelated charges stemming from a robbery and kidnapping.
Peoples will be rebooked on two counts of attempted murder in connection with the shooting. Peoples lives a short distance from the soccer field and evidence suggests the shooting was intentional.
Police believe Peoples fired a .22 rifle from his bedroom at his home a short distance from the park.
Two women who were attending an international soccer match at Teton Trails Park at Bradley Road and Deer Springs Way in the north valley were struck by gunfire at 11:15 a.m.
One victim was hit in the leg while the other was grazed in the chest. Both victims were taken to University Medical Center for treatment.
