Police looking for driver in deadly hit-and-run accident

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

An early morning hit-and-run left one pedestrian dead.

Metro police say the accident happened just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Tam Drive.

According to witnesses and evidence at the scene, the pedestrian was walking on the sidewalk on Sahara, while the vehicle was traveling westbound on Sahara in the right lane.

The pedestrian then entered the same lane as the vehicle.

Police say the pedestrian either laid down or fell to the ground.

The vehicle struck the pedestrian and continued traveling west on Sahara Avenue, failing to stop. The vehicle is described as an early 2000's gray sedan.
