LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Las Vegas Metro police on Friday evening announced they have made an arrest in connection with a series of high-end pet thefts this week.

Police also recovered a French Bulldog and three bearded dragon lizards.

The suspect, a minor, was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary and two counts of possession of stolen property.

Following the arrest, police were notified that two Siberian Huskies taken in a third and separate incident were returned to a pet store by an unnamed citizen.

Police added that they are trying to locate a person of interest in the case, 23-year-old Juan Carlos Vasquez. He is in his early 20s.

Detectives are still working to recover the remaining animals:

  • A white French bulldog puppy
  • A gray schnauzer puppy
  • A black Yorkshire terrier puppy
  • A yellow and orange macaw
  • Three bearded dragon reptiles

On Tuesday night, police said two Siberian huskies were stolen from Puppy Boutique. Those animals have been returned.

On Sunday night, thieves took four puppies from Prince and Princess Pet Shop and then stole four exotic birds from Acrylic Tank Manufacturing. Surveillance video of those break-ins is available here.

Anyone with information on the burglaries or the whereabouts of the animals is asked to call Metro's Property Crimes Section at 702-828-4809 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555. You may also leave information online at www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
