LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
You could call it a 2-for-1 deal of sorts. The Las Vegas Wranglers on Thursday announced defenseman Matt Campanale has been acquired from the Elmira Jackals in a trade.
The Jackals scored Wranglers defenseman Cameron Cooper and forward Matt Carter in the deal.
Campanale, 24, brings a great deal of ECHL experience. He also has AHL games under his belt and an appearance with the NHL's New York Islanders.
The 5'11", 201-pound D-man tallied a goal and five assists in 37 games with the Jackals this season. In the 2011-12 season, he was good for seven goals and 16 assists in eight games with the ECHL's Bakersfield Condors and 58 games with the Jackals.
You can catch alt-country star Todd Snider following the Wranglers' game at Orleans Arena on Friday, Feb. 1. Saturday's game is "Heroes Night" and "Over 18 Night" on Monday, Feb. 4 will feature the team skating topless. Sort of.
