LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Embattled Nevada Assemblyman Steven Brooks was released from a hospital where he sought treatment last week, his attorney, Mitchell Posin, told FOX5 Thursday.
Brooks, 40, was admitted into the Seven Hills Behavioral Institute days after he was accused of threatening the life of Nevada Speaker Marilyn Kirkpatrick.
The Jan. 19 arrest was followed by a series of bizarre events that put Brooks' story in the national spotlight. The legislator failed to appear at a news conference in Carson City and later posed topless for an article in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
On Friday, Brooks was hospitalized for a mental evaluation following a domestic disturbance at his grandmother's home.
The Nevada Legislature convenes next week. Posin maintains that his client has no plans to resign from his position.
