TIGARD, OR (KPTV) -

A substance that was likely anti-freeze was found in a dog bowl at a Tigard dog park last weekend.

Tigard police said the suspicious substance was found at Ash Avenue Dog Park, located at 12770 SW Ash Ave. on Sunday.

"It was a dog bowl full of anti-freeze to the brim. It was like half a gallon of anti-freeze and it was just tucked behind the little play structure over there out of sight," said Christian Rajatte, who found the anti-freeze.

Police said the substance resembled green anti-freeze, and a man at the dog park said his dog ingested some of it. A veterinarian later gave the dog, named Lilly, an antidote that saved her life.

"Apparently if she had shown symptoms, after like six hours of exposure, they get drunken and if she had shown symptoms, at that point it's pretty much too late and there's nothing they could do for her," said Rajatte.

The anti-freeze was disposed of and the affected bark dust was also removed from the park.

A police officer took the bowl to a nearby fire station, where firefighters washed out the bowl and ensured it was clear of any of the remaining substance.

There are no suspects in the case and no surveillance video available.

Tigard police haven't released any additional information.
