LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Officers from seven different law enforcement agencies will tackle impaired driving in Las Vegas on Super Bowl Sunday.
Las Vegas Metro police announced a sobriety checkpoint for the area of Boulder Highway and Mayorga Street, near Boulder Station Casino, from 6 p.m. and 2 a.m. on Feb. 3.
Metro said the area has had a high amount of accidents and impaired drivers.
Police said drug and alcohol-impaired driving will be examined for all juveniles, young adults and older adults.
Members of Henderson police, North Las Vegas police and Nevada Highway Patrol, among others, will be on hand for the enforcement.
The event, which was made possible by a "Joining Forces Grant" from the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety, aims to curb the amount of DUI wrecks and deaths.
