LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Police said a man found wounded Tuesday in a Las Vegas home along with three dead bodies may have shot them before turning a gun on himself.

Las Vegas Metro police disclosed details Wednesday of a deadly shooting that took place at a home in the 2200 block of La Sombra Street, near Smoke Ranch Road and Jones Boulevard.

According to police, officers arrived at the home about 4:20 p.m. Tuesday on reports of shots fired inside.

Officers found a significant amount of blood in the backyard of the home that led to the bodies of two women, another man and a dog.

Police believe the three people and the dog were shot as a result of a domestic disturbance.

Police also said they located 54-year-old James McCarty with severe head trauma. Homicide detectives believe he may have shot the victims, who are all related to McCarty.

Metro said McCarty was transported to University Medical Center Trauma and booked in absentia on three counts of murder with a deadly weapon. Police plan to transport McCarty to Clark County Detention Center once he recovers.

Meanwhile, the Clark County Coroner's office identified at least two of the victims in the shooting.

Bonnie Lee Scherrer, 38, died from a gunshot wound to the head as a result of a homicide, the coroner's office said.

Robert John Scherrer, 41, also died from a gunshot to the head from the homicide.
