LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Metro police say three people are dead and one is clinging to life following a shooting on La Sombra Street near Smoke Ranch Road and Jones Boulevard in Las Vegas.
Metro police said they received a call at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday about shots having been fired and a suspicious situation. When officers arrived at the residence, they discovered blood in the backyard and bullet holes in the windows.
Police located three adult bodies inside the home. A fourth victim, a male, was taken to UMC Trauma in critical condition from gunshot wounds. The victims were comprised of two adult females and two adult males.
Karen Javier lives next door. Her son called 911.
"He (son) called me and said he was out smoking a cigarette and saw a bullet hole in their living room window, which was across from our living room window," she said.
"For this to happen in our neighborhood - it's absolutely crazy," said neighbor Barbara Sanders.
Police are looking into the possibility that this may have been a murder-suicide situation.
"We believe this is a domestic-related event and the investigation is preliminary at this time," Metro's Lt. Ray Steiber said.
Javier said she's seen police at the home before, but this came as a shock.
"We'd say hello. He was very nice. The mom, you'd only see once in a while when she was smoking a cigarette. I can't believe that it's happened," she said.
Neighbors were evacuated and Jones was shut down in both directions near the scene as police investigated.
