A local doctor is being investigated on sexual assault allegations involving a patient, according to North Las Vegas police.
The investigation began in Nov. 2012 when a representative of North Vista Hospital called police on a patient's behalf, to report a sexual assault.
Reports allege 34-year-old Mane Shah, M.D. of Las Vegas assaulted a 68-year-old Las Vegas woman during a physical exam.
Police said Shah was the victim's attending physician during her inpatient stay at North Vista Hospital.
Detectives arrested Shah on a warrant issued by the Clark County District Attorney's office.
Shah was taken into custody on Thursday, Jan. 24 for one count of sexual assault and one count of open and gross lewdness, according to police.
Mane Shah, M.D. is a contracted doctor who reportedly has admitting privileges at North Vista Hospital, St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Sunrise Hospital, and Mountain View Hospital.
This is an ongoing investigation.
