LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
A big part of his job is talking with the media about fires. They're usually not at his own house.
In an odd turn of events on Friday, Las Vegas Fire and Rescue spokesperson Tim Szymanski's home caught fire shortly after he left for work.
"It started in a fan in the bathroom. I change those fans out on a regular basis because we see fires with them all the time. Even as cautious as I was, it caught fire. It's just one of those things," Szymanski said.
Szymanski said the damage to his home was such that it could be another three months before he can live there.
