Power was restored to some 10,000 customers, including casino properties on and around the Las Vegas Strip, after an outage Friday morning.
NV Energy confirmed the power outage about 6 a.m.
A utility official said five separate distribution lines "tripped off" with the substation at Flamingo Road and Valley View Boulevard was affected. The utility cited equipment failure as the cause of the outage.
The outage affected an area that borders Desert Inn Road to the north, Valley View Boulevard to the east, Flamingo Road to the south and Arville Street to the west.
There was no confirmation on which properties had power out, but a FOX5 skycam shot pointed at the Strip depicted lights off at the Wynn and Encore casinos.
Power was restored just before 7 a.m., NV Energy said.
