Obama to talk immigration in Las Vegas

Posted: Updated:

President Barack Obama is slated to travel to Las Vegas as part of a discussion to fix immigration, the White House revealed Friday.

Plans call for Obama to arrive Tuesday in Nevada, the White House confirmed. He is slated to deliver his remarks at De Sol High School, 3100 E. Patrick Lane in Las Vegas, beginning at approximately 11:55 a.m.

On Friday, the White House said the president met with members of the bipartisan Congressional Hispanic Caucus to "discuss the need to make things fairer for and grow the middle class by fixing our broken immigration system".

Obama is making his first visit to Las Vegas for the first time since his re-election.

Las Vegas was a key battleground for votes during last year's presidential campaign. Obama's campaign stumps in the city included guest musical performances that included Mexican band Mana and pop artist Katy Perry during different occasions.
