Woman, child struck by car in west Vegas

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A woman and a small child were sent to the hospital after they were struck by a vehicle in west Las Vegas, police said.

Las Vegas Metro police reported the incident at 9:20 a.m. on Spring Mountain Road near Decatur Boulevard.

According to police, a vehicle lost control and drove onto the sidewalk, missing a bus stop but hitting a woman and a stroller.

The woman and child in the stroller were transported to University Medical Center Trauma with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Police were looking into what caused the driver to lose control, including weather-related factors.
