Pop singer Beyonce reportedly sang the National Anthem on a pre-recorded backing track during the Inauguration Ceremony.
Was pop singer Beyonce's rendition of the National Anthem at the Inauguration Ceremony lip-synched?
The Times of the United Kingdom is reporting the Destiny's Child member did indeed perform the "Star Spangled Banner" with a pre-recorded backing track.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Marine Corp Band, which provides the music at the ceremony, confirmed to TMZ.com that the singer mouthed her words. In comparison, TMZ also reported singer Kelly Clarkson's version of "My Country ‘Tis of Thee" at the ceremony was done live.
There has been no word from Beyonce's camp regarding reports of the lip synch.
News of the lip synch has attracted comments on social media.
Fans of the upcoming Super Bowl halftime act do not believe the assertion.
"Beyonce does not lisp (sic) sync because Beyonce is God," said Twitter user @TheNotoriousCME.
Others believe this spells the beginning of Beyonce's popularity downfall.
"This is great [to be honest], the Superbowl hasn't even began yet the curse is already working. Her career is (sic) crumbing," said user @firstminialbum.
What do you think? Do you believe Beyonce lip synched her performance?
