Hot weather returns for Thursday with highs into the lower 90s.  Humidity levels will start to creep up some with a few extra clouds.  A cold front will move toward the Virginia and North Carolina border late Thursday, so there will be a slight risk of a late day shower or storm.  Friday will be mostly to partly sunny with a high of 91.

The upcoming holiday weekend will be above normal for temperatures.  Look for mostly to partly sunny skies on Saturday with highs near 90.  On Sunday we will have just a slight risk of a PM shower or storm, otherwise it will be partly sunny with highs in the upper 80s to near 90.  Labor Day will have some clouds with a couple showers or storms possible.  Highs on Monday will continue in the upper 80s.

Tuesday will be partly sunny with a chance of a shower or storm.  Temperatures will stay above normal with a high near 90.

In the tropics, Hurricane Cristobal continues to stay away from any land.  The hurricane continues to move north and is about 400 west of Bermuda today.  Maximum sustained winds are near 80 mph and the hurricane is not expected to any land masses before becoming non tropical by the weekend. Possible rip currents and higher than normal surf will be possible along the North Carolina coastline.
