A body found near some Mesa railroad tracks is being treated as a homicide, police said.
The victim, identified as Matthew Hester, 31, suffered at least one gunshot wound, officers said.
Police discovered the body while responding to call of shots fired late Wednesday night in the 1000 block of South Center.
Hester was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the area, police said.
Police said they are following up on leads.
