A Saudi Arabian military officer accused of raping a 13-year-old boy at a Las Vegas Strip hotel had bail set for more than $1 million Friday.
Mazen Alotaibi, 23, faces counts of sexual assault against a child under 16, sexual coercion with force and first degree kidnapping.
A judge in Las Vegas Justice Court on Friday set bail for $1,220,000. A preliminary hearing was set for Jan. 31.
According to Las Vegas Metro police, Alotaibi was charged in connection to the alleged incident that took place in a sixth floor room at Circus Circus hotel-casino on New Year's Eve.
Police said the victim was with family vacationing in town.
Police said Alotaibi, an officer with the Saudi air force, was in the country for training exercises and was temporarily stationed at San Antonio's Lackland Air Force Base. Alotaibi was also a guest at the Circus Circus.
