LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Gov. Brian Sandoval on Tuesday declared a state of emergency in Nevada, a result of ongoing winter conditions.
In this case prolonged periods of freezing temperatures have put a strain on our state's propane supply.
The declaration suspends Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation 49 CFR 395.3 and Nevada Administrative Code 706.247, which regulate the number of hours an operator can drive in a given shift.
The state of emergency is in effect for 15 days for any driver operating a commercial vehicle which supplies propane.
"The declaration is a precautionary measure to ensure propane truck operators can support the needs of Nevada citizens during this prolonged cold weather pattern," Sandoval said.
