14-year-old boy ID'd in east Vegas slaying

Authorities released the name of a 14-year-old Las Vegas boy who died in a shooting at an east end apartment complex.

Haji Mohamud died of a gunshot wound of head as a result of a homicide, the Clark County Coroner's office said.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, Mohamud was one of two people found shot in the 1400 block of E. Reno Avenue about 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 12.

Police said the two victims had attended a party at an apartment when a fight broke out. People at the party exited the apartment where multiple gunshots were fired, according to homicide detectives.

Mohamud was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other victim was transported to  Sunrise Trauma Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, Metro said.

Police said no suspects have been identified yet.
