Metro police on Friday afternoon busted a marijuana grow operation on Cathedral Stairs Court near Fort Apache Road and Hacienda Avenue.
Police said no one was home when they served a search warrant at 2:30 p.m. on Friday but that the house contained somewhere between 500 and 1,000 marijuana plants.
Police were tipped off by neighbors. The rental house does not have a single owner; rather, it is owned by a trust.
This is the second grow house bust this week. On Wednesday, members of a joint task force busted a grow house in the west valley that yielded 1,481 marijuana plants and nearly $30,000 in cash. Police have not indicated if Friday's bust is in any way connected to Wednesday's.
A neighbor FOX5 spoke with said he smelled pot around the house but figured a resident with a medical card had been smoking it.
