NV Energy offering analog meter option

Posted: Updated:
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

If you're one of the people who chose to opt out of NV Energy's smart meter program, you will have the option of having an analog meter installed at your residence, the utility said on Wednesday.

The meters will be refurbished, sealed and tested.

Remember, if you're opting out of the smart meter program you will be charged a one-time fee of $52.86 and a monthly charge of $8.82. Northern Nevada residents will pay a one-time fee of $52.44 and an $8.72 monthly fee.

NV Energy advises customers not to call them for installation because they must still file tariffs for PUCN approval. Once approved, NV Energy will contact you if you've opted out of the smart meter program to schedule removal of smart meters and/or installation of analog meters.
