LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Friends and family of 18-year old Jesse Hill will gather at Northwest Career and Technical Academy Wednesday at 4 p.m. for a candlelight vigil.

The teen died last week after being hit by a car while walking on the sidewalk in North Las Vegas. His 16-year-old girlfriend was also injured in the accident.

Police said the driver was speeding and lost control, hitting Jesse and his girlfriend.

Drugs and alcohol were factors in the accident, according to police.

The driver and his passenger are facing several charges.

Northwest Career and Technical Academy is located at 8200 W. Tropical Pkwy.
