KINGMAN, AZ (FOX5) -

A teen in northwest Arizona was charged with resisting deputies and assaulting them.

Michael Anthony Burke, 18, of Kingman, was arrested on those charges Thursday, according to the Mohave County Sheriff's office.

The arrest was made after deputies were called to a home in the 1800 block of Devlin Avenue on a reported break-in and theft.

According to the sheriff's office, Burke fled the residence while deputies were speaking to residents inside. Deputies learned from a neighbor that a man had entered their home without permission, authorities said.

As deputies approached Burke, who was seen walking around inside the neighbor's home, the suspect ran off, the sheriff's office said.

The sheriff's office said deputies were able to apprehend Burke before he attempted to exit the home. He continued to struggle with deputies, authorities noted.

Burke was booked into the Mohave County Jail.
