LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A Las Vegas domestic violence relief group is calling on bids for an auction to help pay for the cost of a 10-year-old homicide victim's funeral.

Safe Faith United scheduled an event Thursday to display a coat that is being auctioned off for the family of Jade Morris.

Morris was the child who was stabbed to death in December. Brenda Stokes, a friend to Morris' family, was charged in connection to her slaying.

The organization said the coat, which was donated anonymously, is open to the public to bid. Those interested in bidding can view the coat at Safe Faith United at 1860 E. Sahara Avenue, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday.

Bids can be made through SFUvictims.org and its "Donate" section of the website. Bids are made through Paypal.

Bids can also be made by check to Safe Faith United, Attn: The Jade Morris Coat Auction, 1850 E. Sahara Avenue, Suite 102, Las Vegas, NV 89104.

The bidding period runs from Jan. 3-24.
