Police ID Nov. 8 homicide victim

Metro police have identified a homicide victim whose body was found in an alleyway near 10th Street and Stewart Avenue in downtown Las Vegas on Nov. 8, 2012.

Christine Ray, 50, of Las Vegas, was 5'1" and about 170 pounds with strawberry hair and blue eyes. Her last known address was in the 6100 block of Bryce Canyon Avenue in northeast Las Vegas.

Ray had also gone by the names Carla Pope, Christine Wright and Christine Kay Farias.

Police believe Ray's body was placed in the alleyway between 1 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. on the day it was discovered.

The investigation into Ray's probable slaying is ongoing. Anyone who was in contact with Ray during the months of October or November of 2012 or who has useful information is urged to call Metro's Homicide Section at 702-828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
