The death of 10-year-old Jade Morris is continuing to touch the lives of many around the valley.
A collection of flowers, stuffed toys, and candles is growing in North Las Vegas, at the site where her body was discovered. That tribute was started by a family who understands some of the pain Jade's family is experiencing.
Catherine Heath lost her 9-year-old daughter in March to a serious case of the flu. She says her brother started the memorial for Jade on Thursday.
"I just know that she's up there in heaven. She's with my baby," said Heath as she revisited the tribute on Sunday on her way to visit her own daughter's grave.
Heath hopes the Morris family knows they are not alone in their sorrow and she says Jade is not alone in heaven.
"I believe that Bri probably greeted Jade up there," said Heath.
Tejuana Reeves, Jade's mother, says she's overwhelmed by the support and love the community is showing. She says knowing the community is behind her is helping her get through the most difficult time of her life.
