Metro police said on Friday that an arrest has been made in connection with a violent sexual assault which took place on Sept. 1 near the Las Vegas Strip.

Rosendo Bravo Lopez, 24, of Salinas, CA, is currently in custody in Salinas.

On Sept. 1, a 22-year-old female victim was assaulted near the 300 block of Joe. W. Brown Dr. near Sahara Ave. and Paradise Rd. as she was trying to make her way to her hotel room.

The victim was found by hotel security frantically running barefoot down a road, yelling for help. The suspect was captured on video surveillance fleeing in the opposite direction.

The victim was treated at University Medical Center and released.

Police say this is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
