LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Metro police will once again be out in full force on New Year's Eve, enforcing city and county ordinances. There are a few things of which you need to be aware.
Metal and glass containers will not be allowed on the Strip and in downtown areas from 6 p.m. on Monday evening until 6 a.m. on Jan. 1. Plastic cups and containers will be permitted.
A curfew will be in effect on the Strip for those under 18 and not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian from 9 p.m. on Monday until 5 a.m. on Tuesday.
Police are asking revelers not carry large backpacks, satchels or knapsacks large enough to carry cans and bottles.
Police want to remind you that discharging firearms into the air, known as celebratory gunfire, is dangerous and illegal. Those who shoot guns off can be arrested and charged with a number of crimes.
