A woman already charged with a razor blade attack at the Bellagio is now facing charges for the death of a 10-year-old girl.
According to Clark County Detention Center records, Brenda Stokes faces charges of first degree murder and kidnapping.
The Clark County Coroner's Office on Friday afternoon confirmed a body found on Thursday in North Las Vegas belongs to Jade Morris, a 10-year-old who had been missing for nearly a week.
The child died from multiple stab wounds, the death was ruled a homicide.
Stokes is accused of slashing a co-workers face with razors at the Bellagio on the same day that Jade went missing.
"I cannot look at her. How can you do that to a baby?" asked Brenda Morris, Jade Morris' grandmother. "What's wrong with her? She's deranged."
The attack at the Bellagio reportedly took place after Stokes took Jade Morris to go Christmas shopping.
Following a six-day search, a person walking his or her dog discovered the girl's body in an unfinished housing development in North Las Vegas.
"What happened to her? Was it swift? Did she suffer?" asked Phil Tucker, Jade Morris' grandfather.
In court, prosecutors presented evidence pointing to murder.
"The car the defendant was driving has been searched and there was blood found on the driver's side door and on the steering wheel," said attorney Robert Daskas.
"It's a relief to at least know where she's at and know that Brenda's probably going to be charged and (held) accountable for it," Tucker said.
Jade Morris' family is relieved that the search is over, but said that nothing will ease the pain of their loss.
"She (Brenda Stokes) knows my child loved her, and we thought she loved her (Jade Morris) too. I guess not," said Tejuana Reeves, Jade Morris' mother.
"Why? Why would she have to kill her? What did she do (that was) so bad? She didn't do anything," Brenda Morris said.
Stokes is scheduled to appear in court again on Wednesday.
