
The regional controller for the company which owned or developed the Residences at MGM, Town Square shopping center, Turnberry Place, Turnberry Towers condominiums and the Stirling Club has been arrested and charged with conspiracy and fraud.
Hope Ippoliti, 51, and alleged accomplice Rocco Lazazzaro, 54, both of Las Vegas, are charged with conspiracy and wire fraud. Lazazzaro is additionally charged with attempted interference with commerce by threats and violence.
According to the indictment, Ippoliti was employed as the western regional controller for Turnberry West Realty and had access to Turnberry bank accounts. It's alleged that between 2007 and Jan. of 2012, she transferred Turnberry funds falsely represented as business expenses and withdrew those funds for herself and Lazazzaro.
The indictment further states that between Feb. 14 and 16 of this year, Lazazzaro allegedly attempted to use force, violence and fear to extort more money from Turnberry through Ippoliti.
The case is being investigated by the United States Secret Service and the FBI and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Christina M. Brown.
