LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
A suspected arson fire in a multi-family duplex near Rainbow Boulevard and West Spring Valley Parkway on Christmas Eve did about $50,000 in damage, Clark County Fire said.
The fire was reported just after 10:00 p.m. and heavy smoke and fire could be seen billowing from the duplex. Firefighters were able to keep the blaze from spreading to the second half of the duplex and nearby structures.
Investigators said one male occupant was treated at the scene for injuries and was subsequently arrested and charged with arson. He was booked into Clark County Detention Center.
One half of the duplex is severely damaged. Three occupants of the duplex were not home when the fire broke out.
