LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
An east Las Vegas middle school was evacuated after a kitchen fire Thursday.
According to the Clark County Fire Department, a report of fire in an oven was called in from C.W. Woodbury Middle School, near Sandhill Road and Harmon Avenue, about 11:45 a.m.
Staff told CCFD cardboard boxes were in the oven and, when it was turned on, the boxes caught fire.
The fire was confined to the kitchen area, but the school was evacuated as a precaution, officials said.
There were no injuries reported.
