LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Construction is under way on the Wet ‘n' Wild Las Vegas water park on S. Fort Apache Road, with the first major cement pour slated for Thursday.
The cement will form the walls of the excavated 17,000-square-foot wave pool. The people behind Wet ‘n' Wild said they will soon announce a contest to name the wave pool.
Other ongoing construction includes the installation of onsite utilities such as water, sewer and storm drains. Offsite production includes the creation of several slides.
Wet ‘n' Wild Las Vegas is set to open Memorial Day weekend 2013.
