LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Authorities identified Monday the two people who died in an apparent murder-suicide at the Excalibur hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
The Clark County Coroner's office said 30-year-old Jessica Corinne Kenny died of multiple gunshot wounds to the head and chest as a result of a homicide on Dec. 14.
Las Vegas Metro police believe she was shot by a man identified as Edward C. Brandt, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner's office said Brandt, 31, of Lake Forest, Ill., died of a gunshot wound to the head as a result of a suicide.
According to Metro, Brandt entered the lobby of the hotel, shot Kenny and then shot himself.
Kenny was rushed to University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
Police were looking into a connection between the two, including a possible dating relationship.
Local website VEGAS.com said Kenny worked for the company.
"We were saddened to learn that a member of the VEGAS.com family was the victim of tonight's tragic and senseless killing at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino Las Vegas," said VEGAS.com Chief Operating Officer Bryan Allison on Friday. "Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends."
An investigation continues into the shooting.
