Basketball team ripped for 105-point win

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

An Indiana girls' high school basketball team and its coach are being criticized for their 107-2 victory over a rival school on Tuesday night.

The Bloomington South High School girl's team was in control from tip-off and only allowed Arlington High School to score on free throws in the second and third quarters.

Despite the lopsided victory, the win may have gone unnoticed if not for a comment by Chris Kaufman, the assistant commissioner for the Indiana High School Athletic Association, who said "we don't want to see anything this one-sided" in future games.

That led to a number of op-ed pieces, including one by ESPN columnist Jan McManus, who wrote that the victory "doesn't seem very sporting" and chastised the winning coach for allowing players to continue shooting when the game was clearly in hand.

"A high school game isn't about the coaches and their misplaced egos. It is about the girls and boys and what they take away from the experience to build on later in their lives," McManus wrote.

FOX5 wants to know what you think about the reaction and criticism of the coach. Send your comments to Facebook and The RANT.
