Las Vegans have a new place to get Powerball lottery tickets.

The Primm Valley Lotto Store announced Wednesday it will begin selling tickets for the multi-state game on April 8, 2013.

Primm, which is a town that hugs Interstate 15 at the Nevada-California border, already sells tickets for Mega Millions and the California Lottery games.

The Powerball addition comes after the California Lottery Commission approved the state to be part of the game.

That announcement came a day after the record $588 million Powerball drawing on Nov. 28, which was won between two tickets sold in Missouri and Arizona.

Each Powerball ticket costs $2. Five numbers from 1 to 59 are drawn with a red Powerball number from 1 to 35.

Powerball drawings begin at $40 million and increase by at least $10 million every roll, according to Primm Valley Lotto Store.

Before California, the only closest place southern Nevadans could buy Powerball tickets was in Arizona.
