A 27-year-old man suspected of being the head of a large drug trafficking ring has pleaded guilty and will accept a life sentence.

Oscar Cavadas Tuesday pleaded guilty to multiple felonies as part of an agreement.

Cavadas was among 14 people charged after the Southern Nevada Drug Task Force seized more than 200 pounds of methamphetamine, $300,000 in cash and 11 vehicles back in July 2011.

"A lot of hard work by a lot of great law enforcement partners took a massive amount of narcotics off the streets," District Attorney Steven Wolfson said. "This was the largest methamphetamine bust ever in southern Nevada, and now Mr. Cavadas will get an equally serious prison term."

Cavadas will be sentenced in February. As part of his deal, prosecutors agreed to ask that Cavadas be eligible for parole after nine years. Prosecutors also agreed to ask that two sentences run concurrently with the life sentence.

The Southern Nevada Drug Task Force includes officers from Metro, Henderson, North Las Vegas, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the District Attorney's Office.

Two of the 14 people charged in connection with the drug ring remain at large. The other 12 have all pled guilty to drug-related felonies.
