LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Two Las Vegas non-profit organizations were selected to receive $10,000 each as part of Walmart's campaign to help charitable causes during the holidays.
In what the company is calling the "12 Days of Giving," Walmart called out on Facebook nominations for worthy causes that would fit in the campaign.
According to Walmart, causes focusing on feeding children, supporting veterans and helping in disaster relief were applied to these nominations.
On the first day of the campaign, Three Square Food Bank was among 10 awarded as a "Feeding Our Children" organization.
Walmart awarded Helping Hands of Vegas Valley as part of organizations that supported seniors.
Walmart said more than 21,000 nominations were sent in for the 12 days of grants. A total of $1.4 million will be rewarded to 140 organizations across the country, the company said.
