LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Six southern Nevadans were selected Monday to attend the Presidential Inauguration in Washington next month.

A total of 10 names were drawn by Sen. Harry Reid, D-NV, as part of a lottery open to Nevada residents.

Of those from southern Nevada, five are from Las Vegas and one is from Henderson.

Reid's office announced the lottery in November, saying the senator was allotted a limited amount of tickets to the swearing-in ceremony on Jan. 21, 2013.

The tickets are free-of-charge, but travel expenses and accommodation must be handled by the individual who will receive the ticket, Reid's office said.

"I am honored to provide Nevadans with the opportunity to attend the Presidential Inauguration ceremonies and be a part of history in the making," said Reid on Monday. "The Inaugural brings with it a sense of hope and unity in Washington and around our country. I thank all Nevadans who entered into the drawing and I look forward to seeing those selected at the Capitol."

According to Reid's office, the following Nevada residents had names drawn in the contest:

  • Bryan Hamilton, Baker;
  • Deirdre Parker, Las Vegas;
  • Shirley Phillips, Las Vegas;
  • Christopher Warner, Carson City;
  • Mike Langton, Reno;
  • Evan Ringler, Henderson;
  • Janise Henderson, Las Vegas;
  • Sandra Marz, Reno;
  • Bryant Smith, Las Vegas;
  • Shahrukh Khalique, Las Vegas.
