LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
A 58-year-old man who was attempting to cross a road in a motorized wheelchair was hit and killed by a vehicle on Thursday night just before 5 p.m.
It happened on Jones Boulevard near Robindale Road.
Police said it appears the victim, identified as Darrell Stevens of Las Vegas, was not in a crosswalk when he was struck. Police said he was ejected from his wheelchair and was later pronounced dead at UMC Trauma Center.
The driver involved stayed at the scene. Metro said this marks the 102nd fatal traffic accident in its jurisdiction so far this year.
