LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
A bank in west Las Vegas was struck twice in separate incidents involving fraud and robbery suspects in the same day.
According to Metro police, two men attempted to cash fraudulent checks with fake identifications about 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at a bank branch inside a grocery store in the 10000 block of W. Flamingo Road.
The men failed to obtain any cash and they walked away, police said.
Police described one suspect as a Hispanic man, 18-22 years old, 5'5" to 5'8", medium build with a star tattoo on his earlobe. He was last seen wearing a football jersey and dark cap, police said.
The other suspect was also described as a Hispanic man, 18-22 years old, 5'5" to 5'8" with a medium build. He was sporting a ponytail, a tattoo on his right forearm, as well as a dark, button-up shirt and dark pants.
Then, at about 5:54 p.m., bank workers were victims of a "take-over" robbery by two suspects just as they were preparing to close, according to police.
The suspects grabbed one of the workers and demanded money, police said.
Police said once the suspects were given cash, the suspects fled in a silver, four-door sedan.
Police described both hooded and masked suspects as Hispanic or black men, 18-22 years old, 5'5" to 5'8" with medium builds.
Metro did not indicate whether both incidents were related.
Police urge anyone with information on the incidents to call Metro's Robbery Section at 702-828-3591 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
