LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -- Military officials said there were no injuries after an unmanned aircraft went down in a remote area north of the Las Vegas valley.
Officials from Nellis Air Force Base said a MQ-9 Reaper crashed in the Nevada Test and Training Range west of Hiko, Nev. about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.
Officials said the aircraft was remotely piloted and was participating in a combat training mission as part of an ongoing Weapons School Mission Employment phase.
Nellis AFB notified this week residents living near the base about increased air traffic during the missions.
The training school was scheduled to run through Dec. 12.
Hiko, Nev. is located about 118 miles north of Las Vegas.
