Miss Universe contestants arrive for pageant

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino will roll out the red carpet on Dec. 6 at 5 p.m. for the arrival of the contestants of the 2012 Miss Universe pageant.

Their arrival marks the beginning of nearly three weeks of action packed events and festivals for the contestants who will reside in Las Vegas until the pageant on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 8 p.m.

Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Regional President David Hoenemeyer and Miss Universe Organization President Paula Shugart will welcome the contestants and officially launch the start of the Miss Universe competition with a fashion show featuring this year's contestants.

The event marks the first time all 89 contestants are formally introduced to the media before the pageant.
