LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A trial date was set for the Las Vegas man accused of causing the deaths of four people when a vehicle crashed into a bus stop.

Gary Lee Hosey, Jr. pleaded not guilty and waived his right to a speedy trial during an arraignment in Las Vegas Justice Court on Wednesday.

A judge set his trial for April 1, 2013.

Hosey was charged with four counts of driving under the influence causing death in connection to the Sept. 13 wreck at a bus stop on Spring Mountain Road near Decatur Boulevard.

According to police, Hosey was behind the wheel of an eastbound vehicle, when it lost control and slammed into a bus stop shelter. The wreck resulted in the deaths of four people and injuries to several others.

Police said Hosey was under the influence at the time of the accident, but attorneys for Hosey claim there is a discrepancy regarding how impaired he was at the time of the impact.

The arrest report shows an on-scene breathalyzer test found Hosey had a blood alcohol level above the legal limit of .08. According to the arrest report, Hosey claimed he had just one beer prior to getting in his car with four passengers on September 13.

Blood tests showed Hosey also had marijuana in his system at the time of the accident.

Last month, the court said it would assign a public defender for Hosey after financial hardship forced his previous counsel to withdraw.
