The city of Henderson ranks among the top ten cities in the country when it comes to technological advancements.
Henderson officials announced Wednesday the southern Nevada city's placement in the annual Digital Cities Survey that ranks population centers of 250,000 or greater.
According to the survey, Henderson, which tied for seventh on the list, improved its operating efficiencies while accomplishing strategic goals in spite of fiscal constraints.
Some of the goals the city reached included using energy-efficient technology and virtualizing its server environment. The enhancements yielded a savings of thousands of dollars, the city touted.
"Henderson's ranking as one of the top ten digital cities in America recognizes our commitment to be efficient and use technology to improve services to our residents while at the same time cutting operating costs," said Mayor Andy Hafen.
