Woman arrested in Peoria in connection to Thanksgiving murder

EL MIRAGE, AZ (CBS5) -

A 29-year-old woman has been arrested in Peoria in connection to a murder on Thanksgiving morning in El Mirage. 

El Mirage detectives and U.S. Marshalls caught Rachel Smith, 27, on Thursday.

Smith was considered armed and dangerous and was wanted in connection with a homicide that occurred Nov. 22 at about 10 a.m. in the area of 11900 W. Flores Drive.

Multiple agencies including Mesa, Glendale and Phoenix police departments, as well as the U.S. Marshalls Task Force were all involved in the search.

Smith was booked on one count of second-degree murder and aggravated assault.
