Authorities arrested a 32-year-old Las Vegas man in Arkansas in connection to the slaying of his father.

The Clark County Coroner's office Monday confirmed the identity of a 64-year-old man found dead on Nov. 26 as Richard Stuart Heron, Sr.

The coroner said Heron died of blunt head trauma as a result of a homicide.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, Heron was found dead inside a condo in the 1900 block of N. Torrey Pines Drive after a person requested a welfare check at the residence.

Metro said homicide detectives identified 32-year-old Richard Heron, Jr. as a suspect in the slaying.

The 32-year-old Heron was arrested in Sheridan, Ark. as a suspect in the homicide, police said.

Heron was charged with a count of murder with a deadly weapon. He was awaiting extradition to Las Vegas, police said.

Police urge anyone with information on the death of Richard Heron, Sr., to contact Metro's Homicide Section at 702-828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
