North Las Vegas man killed in wreck ID'd

A 21-year-old man was identified as a person who died after a vehicle struck a light pole near downtown Las Vegas.

Christian Regalado, of North Las Vegas, died as a result of a motor vehicle collision on Nov. 30, according to the Clark County Coroner's office.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, Regalado was one of three occupants of a 1999 Acura traveling northbound on Maryland Parkway on Friday.

Police said the vehicle driven by Diego Rubio-Rodriguez, 21, lost control and struck a light pole in the center median near Mesquite Avenue about 9:17 p.m.

Rubio-Rodriguez, Regalado and another passenger – 21-year-old Heriberto Lopez-Regalado – were transported to University Medical Center.

Regalado was pronounced dead while the other two occupants were treated with serious injuries, according to Metro.

As of this incident, Las Vegas Metro police have investigated 97 traffic-related fatalities this year.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
