LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Nonprofit literacy organization Spread the Word Nevada distributed about 475,000 brand new books to low-income families in the Las Vegas area on Thursday.
The organization gathered the books as part of a book drive since Monday.
The organization teamed up with Majestic Realty in the drive.
Books in English and Spanish were distributed in the drive.
The drive was also part of a national campaign, First Word, that reaches out to underprivileged families in their literary pursuits.
